I made it with a few small adjustments (substituted star anice with a little bit of Chinese 5 spice mix that I’ve made some time ago). It all came out delicious and I’m very excited that I will also have some leftovers for lunch today!

The chestnut doesn’t’ really add flavors to the dish and it is here more for texture. You can skip the chestnut if you cannot find them. Sometimes I also use mushrooms and it is super tasty.
